I. COOKIES AND OTHER TECHNOLOGIES
We use cookies and other similar mechanisms to understand how users interact with our Website and for marketing purposes, including displaying ads to them elsewhere on the Internet.
# What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file stored by a website on your computer, phone, or other device on which you are browsing the website. A cookie contains data about your usage of that site.
Some cookies are essential for the operation of our Store and cannot be disabled.
In other cases, when you first visit our Website, we ask you to consent to the installation of cookies. We do not use advertising or analytical cookies (or any other than essential ones) without your consent.
# What types of cookies do we use?
- Essential cookies
- These cookies are necessary for the proper functioning of the website. You cannot disable them because without them our site simply won’t work properly.
- In this regard, we use a tool that stores your privacy settings. It shows your consent or lack thereof for enabling specific types of cookies on our site.
- Other essential cookies on our Website are used for its correct operation and management, including making changes to the site and launching tracking tools that you have consented to.
- Statistical analysis of our Website
- We use tools that collect analytical data, allowing us to understand how users use our Website. The data we receive from these tools does not provide us with information about a specific individual known by name but allows us to record various aspects of a user's interaction with the Website. We can aggregate and analyze this data statistically and use it to make decisions about changes in our Store and/or our advertising and marketing communication methods.
- A list of the analytical tools we use on the Website, along with an explanation: (i) who is the tool provider, (ii) what exactly it is used for, (iii) what data is collected by the given tool – can be found in Appendix 1 to this policy, and briefly also in the cookie consent management panel.
- Advertising cookies
- We use advertising tools that allow us to display our ads on other websites you visit, including social media (so-called targeted ads), measure the effectiveness of our advertising campaigns, and tailor the content of messages directed to you based on the information we have about you.
- In the Store, we allow subscription to our newsletter. In connection with this, cookies are used to embed the subscription form on our Website and to measure the effectiveness of subscriptions in this form. Modern email marketing systems allow us to combine analytical data from email campaigns with analytical data from the Store. We can use this data to optimize the content of messages sent to newsletter subscribers.
- A list of advertising tools we use on the Website, along with an explanation: (i) who is the tool provider, (ii) what exactly it is used for – can be found in Appendix 1 to this policy, and briefly also in the cookie consent management panel.
- Functional cookies
- Some cookies on our site are used to launch additional tools in the Store, such as chat, product review modules and/or star ratings, the ability to recommend a product to a friend, or to display recently viewed products in our Store, etc.
- A list of the functional tools we use on the Website, along with explanations of what exactly they are used for, can be found in the cookie consent management panel.
- Social media plugins and links
- We have placed links to our social media profiles on the Website: Facebook / Instagram / TikTok. If you visit our profile on a given platform, the owner of that service will receive – as is the case when navigating from any website to another – the information that you came to that platform from our Store.
- Details regarding data processing by these social media platforms can be found on the websites of their providers:
- Facebook and Instagram - https://www.facebook.com/privacy/center/
- TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/legal/page/eea/privacy-policy/pl-PL
- We use social media plugins in the Store, which allow, for example, sharing a product from our Store on your profile / liking our product on Facebook, saving an image from our Website to your Pinterest account. Using such plugins involves transferring cookie information to the owners of these social media services:
- the service provider will receive information that your browser displayed our Website, even if you are not logged into the given social media service, or even if you do not have an account there;
- if you logged into one of the above-mentioned social media services before visiting our Store, the owner of that service will be able to directly associate your visit to our Website with your profile on that service.
- If you do not want social media services to associate data collected during your visit to the Store with your social media profile, log out of those services before visiting our Website. You can also completely prevent the loading of social media plugins on our Website by selecting the appropriate settings in the cookie consent management panel.
- Videos
- Some videos on the Website are embedded using plugins from YouTube (a service owned by Google) / Instagram (owned by Meta Platforms) / TikTok. When you play such a video on our Website, Google / Instagram / TikTok receives this information from your browser, even if you do not have a Google/YouTube account / Instagram account / TikTok account, or are not currently logged in. If you were previously logged into the above service, the provider will be able to directly associate the video playback with your profile.
- If you want to prevent Google / Instagram / TikTok from collecting information about your activity on our Website, you can:
- not play the video (Consent to play the video will be treated as consent for other videos on our Website – until you revoke it, i.e., change your cookie preferences),
- not consent to cookies from this service on our Website,
- or log out from the respective service.
- More information on data processing by YouTube / Instagram / TikTok can be found here / here / here.
# Legal aspects of cookies
The legal basis for using essential cookies by the Store (as mentioned above in the "What types of cookies do we use?" section) is our legitimate interest, i.e., the right to operate a Website that supports our business and ensures its security.
The legal basis for using other cookies is your consent.
In connection with the processing of your personal data using cookies, you have the rights described below at any time.
Our use of cookies, particularly for advertising purposes, may involve profiling. This means that we or the marketing companies we use may create a user profile based on collected information (e.g., email address, order history, device type, technology used, visit frequency) and make purchase forecasts. This allows us to decide what content (including ads) to display on our and other websites.
# How long do cookies remain on the user's device?
It depends on whether they are "persistent" or "session" cookies. Session cookies, i.e., information necessary for browser functionality to work properly, expire at the end of a user session, i.e., each time you close our Website. Persistent cookies, which make using the site easier (e.g., remember resolution, layout, user preferences, recently viewed products), are stored longer by the browser and remain until their expiration date unless you delete them earlier using your browser settings.
Third-party cookies (i.e., analytical, advertising, and social media-related cookies) are subject to their own privacy policies, which we provide links to in this policy.
II. Other purposes of processing Store users' personal data

Further processing will only be possible if we, as the controller, are legally required to do so (especially for tax purposes) or for archiving purposes to protect against potential claims (until the statute of limitations expires).
# Who do we share your data with?
In our operations, we use services of other cooperating companies, so your data may be entrusted to: the company providing us with software to run the Store, the accounting firm, the hosting provider of our Website, the hosting provider of our email, and other companies whose marketing services and tools we use. Your data is also shared with courier companies and possibly payment intermediaries to fulfill your order, where these companies act as separate data controllers.
We participate in a customer satisfaction / feedback program. If you consent to be included in such a program, your data will be shared with the organizer of the customer satisfaction system. This entity is a separate controller of your personal data.
For marketing activities described above in the “Cookies” section, we use services provided by entities based in the USA (Google, Facebook). - withdraw consent to the processing of your personal data if such was given;
- object to the processing of your data if we process it based on legitimate interests;
- restrict data processing;
- lodge a complaint with the President of the Personal Data Protection Office if you believe your data is being processed unlawfully.
# Additional information for newsletter subscribers
If you subscribed to our newsletter, we will send you marketing information about our products and/or services, e.g., news in our offer, promotions, or special deals.
You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the link included in each newsletter or simply by writing to us.
Our modern email marketing system allows us to analyze subscriber behavior, i.e., whether a particular message was opened. We analyze such information to better tailor the content of the newsletter and notifications to your interests and to send you personalized messages (profiling). You can object to such data processing at any time. If a subscriber remains inactive for 2 years, we may stop sending the newsletter. In such a case, we will remove you from our subscriber list (with prior notice).
Your data is not used by us for automated decision-making that could affect your legal situation or produce similarly significant effects for you.
Further legal information regarding the rules of sending our newsletter can be found in the Newsletter Terms (part of our Store Terms and Conditions).
APPENDIX NO. 1 TO THE PRIVACY POLICY OF THE STORE Bioterr Terrarium Store
- LIST OF ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICAL TOOLS USING COOKIES
- ANALYTICAL COOKIES:
- We use Google Analytics
- Information that Google Analytics collects about users includes: how many times a user visits the site; which subpages they visit; the date of the first and last visit; duration of visits; the page from which the user came (referral source); browser used by the user; clicked links; geographic location of access (anonymized/shortened IP address), etc.
- Google assigns its own identifier (so-called Google ID) to each user and collects cookie data from various websites on its servers. We – as the Website owner – can receive reports (statistics) from Google related only to the traffic on our Website. These reports include only users who have consented on our Website to tracking via Google Analytics.
- Further detailed information on the operation of Google Analytics can be found here and here.
- You can also permanently prevent Google Analytics from tracking your browser activity by installing a special plugin found here.
- Cookies from our Store's software provider
- The software provider powering our Store – i.e., the owner of the shoper.pl platform – places cookies on our Website to collect aggregate information about how customers use online stores (opened subpages and time spent on them, viewed products, clicks on the Store page, analytical data on purchases, such as conversion rates).
- This data is used to create aggregate reports for e-store owners, containing general (non-personal) information about which products are of interest to customers, in which season traffic or sales increase, etc. This allows sellers (including us) to improve their stores and optimize sales processes.
- You can read the full information on this in the Cookie Policy for visitors of Shoper stores.
- We use Google Analytics
- ADVERTISING COOKIES
- We use Google Ads and other Google advertising tools
- Google collects data from cookies placed on your device on its servers. These data are gathered from all websites where you have allowed Google to use cookies for advertising purposes (including our Website), as well as from ads you have clicked. Google uses this information to display ads on other sites you visit. Typically, Google cookies expire after 3 months.
- As advertisers using Google's services, we do not have access to the cookie data stored on your device. However, we can request ads to be shown to audiences with selected characteristics, e.g., all users who visited our website (or a specific subpage) in the past 7 days. These data are used solely for statistical purposes, and ads are targeted based only on aggregate criteria (to defined audience segments, not individual users).
- We may also use (as part of Google Marketing Platform) tools that allow measuring the effectiveness of advertising campaigns (e.g., how many people clicked on a specific ad during a defined period).
- Learn more about how Google uses cookies to display ads and how to manage your ad preferences here and here.
- Meta Conversion Pixel (Facebook and Instagram)
- We use Meta's so-called "conversion pixel" (remarketing pixel) to manage ads on Facebook and Instagram.
- If you consent to the use of this cookie on our Website, Meta Platforms will receive information that you visited our Website via this tool. This information will be linked to your profile on the given platform if you have one. If you are not a user of these platforms, the information is assigned to a so-called "Facebook ID" created for you.
- This allows us to display ads on Facebook and Instagram to people who have already visited our Website or specific subpages (remarketing). We then receive only statistical data from Meta Platforms about the effectiveness of the ads (e.g., how many people saw the ad, how many clicked it), without reference to individual users.
- If you have an account on Facebook or Instagram, we encourage you to read more about data protection on those platforms here and here.
- More about the Meta remarketing pixel can be found here.
- E-mail marketing
- We use a tool provided by an external company for our newsletter purposes.
- The email marketing system embeds cookies on our Website for displaying subscription forms and measuring their effectiveness (conversion rates).
- We use Google Ads and other Google advertising tools
